HealthMandi: three portals on one domain, one login
Jobs, directory and buy-sell for the healthcare sector in one place. Live website: healthmandi.com
HealthMandi is a healthcare platform that earlier had only business listings. The client wanted healthcare people to find jobs, search hospitals, doctors and labs, and buy or sell property and medical equipment in one place. The challenge was to build all this without hurting the live website and its Google rankings. We split the same domain into three sections, each with its own design, categories and fields, but one shared login.
The challenge
The old site had only listings and needed to grow.
Jobs, directory and buy-sell needed different experiences.
Users should not need separate accounts.
Old listings and their Google rankings had to be protected.
What we built
- 1Career (/career): an Indeed style job portal where healthcare employers post jobs and candidates apply.
- 2Commercial (/commercial): a directory of hospitals, doctors, labs and other healthcare listings.
- 3Classified (/classified): an OLX style marketplace for property (sale and rent) and medical equipment, with prices.
- 4A hub page on the main domain linking all three sections.
- 5One shared login (including Google login) and one admin panel for all three.
SEO and ranking protection
All old listing URLs were 301 redirected to the new Commercial section so Google signals and old links were not lost. All live listings stayed live, and listings with more detail were given higher priority.
Result
Three complete portals on one domain, each with a clear experience.
Users log in once and use all three sections.
The client team manages everything from one admin panel.
Old rankings and links stayed safe.
How the work was done, step by step
- 1Phase one, audit: we reviewed the live site, its listings, URLs and pages indexed on Google to know what had to be protected.
- 2Phase two, structure: three sections on one domain, each with its own categories, fields and design, but shared users and login.
- 3Phase three, Career: the job portal came first, as staffing was the biggest need in healthcare.
- 4Phase four, Commercial: the old directory moved to the new section, old URLs were 301 redirected and all live listings stayed live.
- 5Phase five, Classified: buy and sell for property and medical equipment, with prices.
- 6Phase six, hub: a main domain page leading to all three sections.
Biggest challenges and how we solved them
Building a new system without taking the live site down: built separately and launched only after testing.
Protecting old rankings: every old listing URL got a planned new address with a permanent redirect.
One login, three experiences: one user account, a separate dashboard in each section.
Reducing friction for new users: Google login and auto approval of new posts at launch so the portal fills up fast.
Lessons for your business
If your website is already running and you want to add something new, you rarely need to rebuild everything. With the right plan, new work can be added in phases while protecting your existing identity and customers. Building a large portal in parts is safer and cheaper than building it all at once.
